Many people collect rare coins all over the world, and no coin commands more respect than this 2009 Ultra High Relief Gold coin.

Through 21st century technology and the innovative vision of Director Ed Moy, the U.S. Mint was able to take one of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' original sketches and recreate it into a commemorative coin. The Saint-Gaudens' sketch from 1907 was able to be fully realized over one hundred years after it was designed through digital recreation and a state-of-the-art die making process.

Saint-Gaudens created the legendary Liberty Head Double Eagle some years ago, but his idea of the 1907 High Relief Double Eagle was never put into circulation. Today, coin enthusiasts can add the ultra rare coin to their portfolios and enjoy it for years to come.

The coin is made with 24-karat gold and weighs an ounce, making it one of the most beautiful coins to ever be created by the U.S. Mint. The front of the coin shows Lady Liberty walking forward, holding a torch and olive branch. The torch represents enlightenment, while the olive branch symbolizes peace. On the reverse side, the American bald eagle is flying across the sunrise.
