Gold Liberty Head Coin
President Roosevelt prohibited gold from being distributed in coin form in 1933. Pre-1933 gold coins minted in the United States, like the Liberty Head gold coin offer the unique opportunity to not only invest in precious metals but also in the history of the United States. The Liberty Head gold coin, like all Pre-33 minted gold coins were struck in .900 purity. The U.S. Gold Bureau offers clients the opportunity to own these gold coins in raw form and in various grades from NGC and PCGS in MS61 to MS64 condition.
The obverse of the Lady Liberty gold coin features of the profile of an interpretation of Lady Liberty herself facing leftward. A coronet adorns her head, which for most dates of issue includes the word “Liberty.”
These coins were fairly common prior to 1933 the federal government recalled all gold coins held by private investors and banks. The meltdown of the gold coins make these coins very rare. The result is an extremely limited supply of Liberty Head gold coins and make them highly desirable among collectors and investors.
