Gold

Gold coins have been used in commerce for much of civilization. In 546 BC, the Persians adopted gold as the main metal for their coins. In recent decades gold coins are predominantly produced as bullion coins for investors. Although most gold coins have a face value they are not for daily financial transactions because the metal value generally exceeds the nominal value of the coin.

The U.S. Gold Bureau carries many modern and historic gold coins including the Gold American Eagle, Gold Canadian Maple Leaf, Gold American Buffalo, Saint-Gaudens, Liberty Head, and Indian Head. In addition to these traditional and historic gold coins we also sell high relief coins like the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Coin and the 2015 $100 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin.

We also offer $5 gold commemorative proof coins from the U.S. Mint. These coins are gold tributes to Americana including the Statue of Liberty, Mt. Rushmore, President George Washington, General MacArthur, and the Baseball Hall of Fame.

If you are looking for gold coins from around the world we offer international gold coins as well. The Canadian Maple Leaf, South African Krugerrand, Austrian Philharmonic, Australian Kangaroo, and Swiss Franc are all beautiful options for investing in gold coins.
