The Gold American Eagle Proof Set has been a favorite for investors and collectors since being introduced in 1986. The front of the coins features a design that is inspired by the original $20 Gold Double Eagle, designed by Augustus Saint-Guadens and minted from 1907 to 1933. Since the Gold American Eagle was introduced in 1986, its four sizes (1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz) have been in high demand.
