Description:

This high relief coin is rendered in intimate detail, a sculpture of the highest quality in miniature.

Justin Kunz has designed an updated version of Liberty for the obverse of this coin. Liberty is shown standing proud, wearing a laurel wreath and holding an American flag in her left hand and with a torch held aloft in her right hand. The flickering flames of the torch and leaves on the wreath interplay with the inscription "LIBERTY." The inscription also includes "2015," and "IN GOD WE TRUST," plus the initials of designer Justin Kunz (JK) and sculptor Phebe Hemphill (PH).

Rendered in meticulous detail, the reverse of this coin features artist Paul Balan's design of an eagle flying, holding an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing freedom. Balan's well-balanced design is paid close attention to detail by sculptor Don Everhart that it is possible to see the individual feathers on the eagle, the leaves on the branch and sense them moving in the breeze. The inscribed words include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS," "1 OZ .9999 FINE GOLD". The mint mark for West Point "W," plus the initials for designer Paul Balan (PCB) and sculptor Don Everhart (DE) are engraved on the reverse.
