Description:

The First Lady Eliza Johnson gold coin is part of the First Spouse series that first hit the market in 2007. These coins have had high and low mintages. Each coins in the series is made of .9999 (24 karat) gold and weighs 1/2 troy ounce.

The 2011 Eliza Johnson First Spouse gold coin was struck at the West Point Mint.

On the obverse, this coin shows a detailed portrait of First Lady Eliza Johnson, wife of President Andrew Johnson. This side is also inscribed with the date, Mint mark, and the years she was First Lady.

Eliza is actually not included in the design on the reverse. She was known for her feelings about children, which is what this design symbolizes. The face value, weight, and fineness can be found in the outer ring of inscriptions.

This coin is available from our firm in a Mint State 70, graded by NGC.
